Xero announces new global partnership agreement with PrimeGlobal

While the functionality to automate the creation of Xero subscription invoices has been available for New Zealand, Australia and Singapore, we’ve been able to expand it to also include UK customers. When creating new items in your products and services inventory list, you can now duplicate and edit an existing item. This will make it quicker to add similar items to your catalogue, with less chance of manual error.

Denver — February 15, 2024 — Xero, the global small business platform, today announced a three-year global framework agreement with Mazars, the international audit, tax and advisory firm. Xero will now be made available for all member firms who choose to adopt a cloud accounting solution, with the aim of empowering Mazars’ advisors with real-time financial data and greater opportunity for collaboration. The new updates are part of Xero’s broader investment in reporting, to help advisors and small businesses easily customize reports, get answers fast and streamline their financial analysis. The revamped sales tax home screen centralises Xero’s sales tax features, providing easy access to reporting and calculations alongside helpful information to guide you through the reporting process.

UK: Auto-extraction of payment details from bill attachments

Today’s news affects everyone at Xero, but most of all it affects the many talented colleagues and friends who have contributed so much to Xero and whose roles are potentially impacted. The results highlight our continued strong revenue growth, which contributed to Xero’s emerging profitability.

Xero has also bundled short-term cash flow and business snapshot into a free tool called Xero Analytics. It comes with a number of new features to help small businesses better manage their cash flow and measure their financial performance. The new CEO of cloud accounting software company Xero has put profitability back on the company’s agenda, announcing that up to 800 jobs would go as part of a broader cost-cutting strategy on Thursday. For businesses paying supplier bills directly from Xero, this new feature streamlines the payment process by automatically extracting and validating bank details from bill attachments. This automation reduces the need for manual updates and checks, saving time and minimising errors. By ensuring that the payment information flows seamlessly into the payment process, the auto-extract feature helps prevent failed payments due to outdated or incorrect payment details and reduces the risk of fraud. This is the first partnership of its kind between Waddle and a major Australian bank , and it forms part of Xero’s efforts to help small businesses with one of their most pressing needs, managing cash flow. As we look to the next phase of Xero’s growth, many of you have asked me what change is needed for us to simplify focus, strengthen our execution and balance growth with profitability.

All US users can now access sales tax reports that are automatically generated by state and by filing period with filing deadlines, saving you time in preparing to file reports and simplifying sales tax  management. For the first time, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) will offer working capital lending for small businesses, powered by the Waddle lending platform. CBA’s Stream Working Capital will use Waddle’s platform to expedite and simplify the process of providing working capital to its customers. CBA’s business customers can opt to share their Xero accounting data with the bank, and Stream Working Capital, powered by Waddle, will automate many of the manual processes involved in invoice finance, such as assessing credit, underwriting and monitoring.

UK small business sees third month of sales growth despite steady performance in May

Xero is continuing to invest in and work with the partner community to enrich reporting with new features, customization options and insightful analysis, as it simultaneously works to strengthen its underlying technology. Recent improvements to new reports include greater control over accounts and balances in the Account Transactions report, and powerful one-click settings that tailor reports to suit user needs. It also includes enhancements to Xero’s report styles in Xero HQ, giving users the ability to change font sizes, as well as adding preset and custom watermarks. This includes many of the leaders who are here to support you and are absorbing the news themselves in parallel. We’ve added more ways for customers to pay, including Tap to Pay on Android (initially in Australia), released Xero Inventory Plus in the US, and continued improving new invoicing. Users can view unfiled amounts by looking at the ‘Transactions by Tax Rate’ or ‘Transactions by BAS’ reports. To make changes on BAS (including any unfiled amounts the customer does not want to include), they can use ‘Adjustments on BAS’. Our new reminder feature allows accountants and bookkeepers to send a reminder to one or more recipients of a document that was sent via document packs in Xero HQ, but not completed.

Additionally, annual leave is now displayed in weeks, eliminating the need for adjustments when work arrangements change. These enhancements will streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and ensure greater legislative compliance. If users enter or alter a transaction during a finalised Business Activity Statement (BAS) period, Xero will now automatically add it to their next BAS as an unfiled amount. Unfiled amounts are also added when users edit, void or delete transactions that were included in a previous BAS. The NSW Government has announced financial support to businesses impacted by the recent COVID-19 restrictions and stay-at-home orders. Our new eligibility calculator auto-populates the relevant fields, to help small businesses quickly understand if they’re eligible. We’ve updated the Products and Services list in Xero, so users can filter lists by archived or active items.

Just in time for the end of the financial year, you can now view your payment details and due date on the activity statement page when you’re connected to the ATO in Xero. This handy update reduces the need to manually find this information outside of Xero, further streamlining your workflow. You’re now able to bulk void bills, credit notes and payslips on a single page. This was a highly requested product idea (with 107 votes) and will save you significant time by providing tools to update multiple transactions at once.
